Knuckle joint

Knuckle joint is a type of mechanical joint used in structures, to connect two intersecting cylindrical rods, whose axes lie on the same plane. It permits some angular movement between the cylindrical rods (in their plane). It is specially designed to withstand tensile loads.

Universal joint

A universal joint is a joint or coupling connecting rigid rods whose axes are inclined to each other, and is commonly used in shafts that transmit rotary motion. It consists of a pair of hinges located close together, oriented at 90° to each other, connected by a cross shaft. The universal joint is not a constant-velocity joint.

Flange coupling

Flange Coupling

flange coupling is a type of Coupling used between rotating shafts that consists of flanges one of which is fixed at the end of each shaft, the two flanges being bolted together with bolts fitted circumstantially to complete the drive. Flange coupling can only be used when both shafts are perfectly aligned in static or dynamic condition.
